Jesus fed the five thousand with hardly anything – that’s the point! Faith looks beyond what we can do and grabs hold of that which only God can do! When we exercise our faith in this way, we grow! By faith we receive from God and then give away what God has given to us! We have to step out of the boat if we are ever going to walk on the water. That’s something only God can do and yet through faith in God we participate in the miraculous! Two Individuals in today’s text sought out Christ for healing. One a synagogue ruler pleading for his dying daughter, the other a woman suffering a medical condition that threatened her life. Both individuals had to press past any and all social and religious impediments to experience the healing power of Christ. The crux of the message is this, Do not be afraid, just believe!
