Live in the Power of Christ and Offer that…

Scripture: Acts 3 One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. 2 Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. 3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. 4 Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” 5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. 8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
Life Lesson: While the world might look at you wondering what you plan to do to meet their momentary felt needs, let me remind you that the greatest gift you possess is your knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and His power to not only temporarily provide but to literally transform a life for all eternity!
– Peter and John were on their way to prayer. Great and wonderful things can happen as we collectively pray together! Where two or more are gathered together in the Lord’s name He is there in the midst!
– Prayer is not just an opportunity to bring our laundry list of requests before the throne. Through prayer we commune with God! God is the Source of our life, our love, our strength and our power! God not only changes the lives of others through Prayer, He can change our lives as well as we pray!
– Answers to prayer are often times discovered in prayer! Just think of the miracles that have happened as God people prayed! People like Moses, Elijah, Elisha, Hannah, David, Solomon, Jehoshaphat, Hezekiah, Esther, Anna, Peter, John, Paul and the list goes on!
– Yes, the world will ask, “What have you done for us lately?” But our concern ought to always be, “What does the Lord want to do in me and through me for the world!” Get your eyes off of what people say they think they need and get your heart fixed on what the Lord has made possible for all who believe! Just think of the great loss if Peter and John had reached deep into their pockets and threw some coins at this man instead of responding through the power and enabling of the Spirit! Let me also say this, our corrupt and perverse secular society has done a marvelous job of making believers think that offering sinners the truths of God’s Word is to offer them nothing! Don’t believe it! Live in the power of Christ and offer that to the world!
