In Ex. 33 we read of the prominence of prayer for the people of God. Moses pitched a tent of Meeting so that he and the others could meet in that place with God. The tent was pitched outside of the camp to distinguish it from any other place in the camp and to require of those who would seek God to intentionally separate themselves from the day to day routine of life so that they could meet with God.

Moses asked God to have His presence attend them always. God told Moses He would do it yet Moses insisted that God not send them anywhere unless His presence was with them! This too shows the importance of petitioning God for that which God has already promised. Never take any promise of God for granted! Seek God diligently for His promises to be fulfilled in your life!
