Power to Overcome All the Forces of Darkness
Scripture Reference 1 Corinthians 2
And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.
Life Lesson: You have been given power and authority to trample underfoot every power of darkness at work in this world. Remember Christian, Jesus overcame the devil not by physical force and intimidation, but by humble submission to the will of the Father!
LK 10:18 He (Jesus) replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Believe this truth, in the name of Jesus!
Psalm 91: 13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.”
2Cor. 10: 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” Our weapons of war are spiritual, they are not of this world! Your victory lies not in your power, but through the power of Christ at work in you!
Moses cried out “Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will show to you today”, Ex. 14:13! Jahaziel prophesied to the Israelites in 2 Chron. 20:15,17, “’Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.’ “
This truth is God’s Word for you today! Are you attempting to win a battle in your own strength that Christ has already won on your behalf? Stop trying and start relying! Stop grieving and start believing! Ps 46 tells us to, 10 “Be still, and know that I am God”! It is “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit’, says the Lord”! The Lord of Hosts will do battle for you!
