Power to Proclaim the Truth with Boldness

  • September 18, 2020September 18, 2020

Scripture Reference 1 Corinthians 2

And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

Communicating the message of the gospel has nothing to do with great oratory skills or personal charisma; it has everything to do with the empowerment that can only come from the Holy Spirit! It is God who empowers you to be His witness!

Power to Proclaim the Truth with Boldness:  After the outpouring of the Holy Spirit recorded in Acts 2, men and women who only weeks earlier had ran and hid were empowered to stand up and speak up to proclaim the truth of God’s Word with boldness!

Encounters with the living God produce boldness: Moses was tending sheep on the backside of the desert for 40 years until God called him to go back to Egypt and declare before Pharaoh, “This is what the LORD God of Israel says, ‘Let my people go’!”

David, a shepherd boy who spent his formative years worshipping the Lord while tending sheep, boldly went out against the giant Goliath convinced that the Lord his God would give him the victory.  With one blow, David defeated the giant!

Peter had denied any knowledge of Jesus on the night of Jesus’ arrest, but after receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit Peter boldly proclaimed “God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” Acts 2:36.

Encounters with the living God produce boldness:

The Lord invites you Christian to approach His throne of grace with great confidence! Today you can receive afresh and anew the supernatural empowering of the Holy Spirit so that you can be His witness. Yes, the blind still can receive their sight, the deaf made to hear, the lame raised up, and the oppressed set free! “Greater is He who is within you than he who is in the world”!!
