Remember Who You Are In Christ!
Scripture Reference Philippians 3 : 20
20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,
21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. 4 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!
Today we have another firm reminder that each one of us should regularly check to see where our citizenship truly is. I’m not suggesting we fall in and out of heaven, however what we actually do is we live at times as “practical atheists”.
What that in fact means is we live as though we are not blood bought, redeemed, saved, delivered, blessed and healed children of God! Instead we live as people who are struggling as those do who know not our Blessed Lord and Savior. How often do we neglect to bring everything to the Lord by prayer, petition and with thanksgiving? How often are we filled with anxious thoughts rather than filled with faith? How frequent are our homes places of arguing, fighting and quarreling, instead houses of refuge and peace!
Who are you Christian?! Look in the mirror and tell me who you are? Are you the reflection that looks back at you or are you the reflection of your Savior’s image? What is it that stands between you and your citizenship in Heaven right now? Listen to the Word of the Lord, Isa. 54:” 17 no weapon forged against you will prevail and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.”
The apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Roman Church, 8: “33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
If nothing can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, then why? Why, are you letting these things obscure your identity in Christ?! Listen to me, nothing that comes against us can possibly prevail IF We Remain in Christ Jesus! Our battle is never against flesh and blood, but those spiritual powers and rulers that war against us do not stand a chance when we are clothed in the spiritual armor of Christ! Our spiritual weapons possess divine power to tear down the devil strongholds, demolish arguments, and can bind every thought over to Christ Eph. 6:12-13; 2 Cor. 10: 4-5! “The only thing standing between you and your true identity is you!”
