Stand on the Truth of God’s Word
Scripture Reference Ephesians 6 : 12
12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
In the opening passages of the Word of God we read in Gen. 3: Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” 4 “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5 “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
The issue that confronted our first parents is the same issue that we are confronted with daily, that being the choice to stand by faith on the Word of God or instead to listen to the liar and deceiver of our souls and subsequently allow those lies to manipulate us.
Paul knew all too well the reality of the spiritual warfare that confronts every believer daily. Paul knew that ultimately our struggle is never against flesh and blood – no not even the immensely irritating nemesis that you have to face too often in the workplace or in your day to day routines. We may strongly dislike the person who is seemingly the source of our frustration, however do not be deceived, he/she is nothing more than a pawn, a tool in the devil’s arsenal to wreak havoc with your faith and to pull your focus away from God and provoke you to operate in the flesh.
But that is NOT who you are! That is not the way of the child of God! Why would you exchange your spiritual armor for the mundane weapons of this world? Behind, beyond, underneath and standing over that potential conflict is a demonic influence that is invisible to the naked eye but is perceivable through the eyes of faith. You must see it for what it truly is!
Yes the devil is enticing! Yes, the devil seems to present a well reasoned argument for why you need to take matters into your own hands, but don’t you believe it! Don’t give in to that deception! Eve did and it cost her Paradise! Not only was she deceived by listening to the devil’s lies but she also spread the deception to her husband and they both quickly fell!
Note: the enemy is not just after you, he is after your whole family! His intent is to take you down so that you can be instrumental in helping to take down your family. Don’t believe the lie that you have no choice! You do have a choice! Jesus Christ gave His life and rose from the grave so that you could have CHOICE!
Every time the enemy calls into the question the authority of the Word of God, choose immediately to stand on Truth of God’s Word and the enemy will have to flee!
