The Voice of the Lord Thunders Over the Earth!
Scripture Reference 1 Corinthians 2 : 4-5
4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.
1 Kings 18: 25 Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Choose one of the bulls and prepare it first, since there are so many of you. Call on the name of your god, but do not light the fire.” 26 So they took the bull given them and prepared it.
Then they called on the name of Baal from morning till noon. “Baal, answer us!” they shouted. But there was no response; no one answered. And they danced around the altar they had made.
27 At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.” 28 So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed. 29 Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention.
Life Lesson: When it comes to comparing the gods of this present age with the Lord God Almighty, there is no contest! While the world calls on every god they can think of, the Church must do what she was created to do, call upon the Lord with faith! It’s never shouting that gets it done, but faith in God will move mountains!
What people need to experience is the fire of God and the smoke of false gods will never satisfy!
It seems to me the sinful shout louder than the righteous. The sinful will shout the righteous down and will dance around appearing bold, brash and in control! However, “there is a river who streams make glad the city of God, the Holy place where the Most High dwells, Psalm 46:4! – Therefore, the child of God need not be afraid of the sensationalism, the pretense and the façade that is so prevalent among the scornful. Let them make their noise! Let them have their moment!
Psalm 29: 3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. 4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic. 5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. 6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox. 7 The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning. 8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh. 9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, “Glory!” Let them try to outshout that!
