Unfathomable Peace in Times of Trouble!
Scripture Reference Philippians 4 : 4-7
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
In a world filled with stress, unrest and worry God has given a way, rather The Way for us to live in His peace day to day. This is very good news given the current climate of bombardment with concerns of every kind coming into our homes and our minds via the internet, our televisions, and our phones.
It truly seems like there is never a down time any more. In a bizarre way God is using this current crisis to give us an opportunity to heal and to turn our hearts back to Him. You no doubt have heard the reports of the significant changes occurring in our atmosphere, the cleansing of the air from heavy pollutants as a result of the mandated changes.
In a similar way God may be working in the lives of individuals, homes, and communities to press pause and to re-evaluate our lives. The way we can experience deliverance from all of our anxieties is through a living and vibrant faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!
What we do with this opportunity will matter! We can grumble and complain, and believe me there have been times when I have; but hopefully we also see past the momentary impositions on our lives and find that God is there! God is reaching out to us right now in the midst of this crisis and many, yes many are finding Him! Individuals, families and even communities can and are experiencing healing, reconciliation, and hope during a time of unparalleled upheaval!
Churches are asking the right questions now such as “What is God doing in all of this?” and “How can I be an instrument of God’s light in this present darkness?”. Church, rather than sitting around and being anxious, Christians everywhere are praying! This threat has awakened the sleeping giant! God is calling His people everywhere to “Gird your loins for battle!”.
You Christian can choose to not pray and be one of the multitude caught up in anxiety or you can pray and find a strength and power that is far beyond yourself and far greater than the momentary afflictions of the day! God’s presence will give you peace! Amen!
Who or what can withstand the power of God?! You may at times feel as though you are backed up against the sea with no place to retreat as the enemy closes in on you but take heart! “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The [Enemy] you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still”, Ex. 14:13-14. God will make a way! Yes! Believe it and find rest in His deliverance! God’s peace transcends all understanding! Christ will guard your hearts and your minds!
